Cape Grenville
Cape Grenville lies in Wuthathi country on Cape York Peninsula's east coast between Shelburne Bay to the north and Temple Bay to the south with Margaret Bay on its north side and Indian Bay on the south. The Home Islands lie off the eastern shore.
Persistent winds have blown sand inland for up to 29 kilometres to form Queensland's most extensive mainland transgressive dune system — slightly larger than those found at Cape Flattery.
Apart from the parabolic dune system, the cape has around 7300 hectares of nationally important wetlands.
