Vrilya Point

At 11.2182° S and 142.1306° E, Vrilya Point is the first prominent headland south of Cape York Peninsula's northwestern tip.

According to Norman Tindale's Aboriginal Tribes of Australia, the point was the coastal boundary between the Ankamuti and Nggamadi, who he regarded as separate entities; the AIATSIS map conflates the two under Anggamudi.

The Carpentaria Lightship CLS3 was driven ashore at Vrilya Point during Cyclone Greta in January 1979.
