Warraber (Sue Island)

Situated around seventy-eight kilometres northeast of Thursday Island and around 812 kilometres north-northwest of Cairns in the Torres Strait Island Region's Central Islands, the 78-hectare Warraber (Sue Island) is the middle island of The Three Sisters in the Vigilant Channel. As a coral cay, the island is threatened by rising sea levels, and coastal defences have been built on many of the island's beaches.

The islanders belong to the Central Islands Kulkalaig, speaking Kulkalgau Ya, one of Kala Lagaw Ya's four dialects. However, Brokan (Torres Strait Creole) is generally used in day-to-day interactions.
