Iningai
The AIATSIS Map of Indigenous Australia places the Iningai (alternatively, Yinangay, Yiningayi, Muttaburra — a horde name — Mutabura, Moothaburra, Mootaburra, Tateburra — a horde north of Cornish Creek, Terreburra — a horde on the Alice River, Kana) west of the Great Dividing Range around Longreach and Barcaldine, with the Yirandali as their northern neighbours, the Miyan to the northeast, the Yagalingu to the east, the Dharawala and Kuungkari to the south. the Maiawali to the west and the Guwa to the northwest.
Norman Tindale's Aboriginal Tribes of Australia assigns them around 50,700 square kilometres of territory, extending west to the Forsyth Range, Maneroo Creek and Longreach, south along the Alice River's tributaries to about Mexico and north to Muttaburra, Cornish Creek, Tower Hill, Bowen Downs, and North Oakvale. Tindale suggests that some people moved southeast to Alpha in the post-contact/settlement era and that the Wadjabangai, whom he lists separately, may have been a subtribe.
Their language was closely related to the neighbouring Bidjara, Dharawala and Wadjabangayi languages and might have been mutually intelligible with them.
