Stockland Nathan Plaza
Located on a 9.4-hectare site at the intersection of Ross River Road and Nathan Street, the former Stockland Nathan Plaza (now Townsville Shopping Centre) opened in 1970 as Nathan Plaza shopping centre. Significant expansions in 1987 and 2012 saw the centre swallow up surrounding properties as it spread towards Ross River.
The centre's current incarnation includes three major retailers (Myer, Woolworths, and Big W) alongside more than one hundred and twenty-five smaller retailers and specialty stores.
