Gugu Badhun
While Norman Tindale's estimate that the Gugu Badhun territory of 3400 square kilometres of the country in the Upper Burdekin region northwest of Townsville has come under question from linguists Robert Dixon and Peter Sutton, who questioned the northern boundary, there is no doubt that they occupied the upper Burdekin valley on both sides of the river. Their country encompassed the Valley of Lagoons and the former mining town of Greenvale.
