Townsville's Original Footprint
My family arrived in Townsville almost a hundred years after the first settlers and spent our first few weeks in The North in the same area.
In hindsight, it might be easy to say we knew we were walking through history: all an eleven-year-old noticed at the time were some very old buildings.
Six years later, an acquaintance pointed out leftovers from the horse and buggy era that disappeared as Finders Street East morphed into Townsville's party precinct.
