Northward Bound

It's close to sixty years since my family moved North. Given that time frame, one might expect the memory to have faded. In a way, it has. However, thanks to Mister Google and a bit of digging,I thought I'd confirmed a few things. For instance, I remember flying from Rockhampton to Townsville. I was reasonably sure it was on the weekend. This timetable suggested it was on a Saturday.

Since Ansett ANA didn't fly in or out of Rockhampton at that stage, I assumed we flew on the government-owned Trans Australia Airlines and travelled from Brisbane to Rockhampton on the Rockhampton mail train, which left Brisbane around seven or eight in the evening and arrived in Rocky relatively early the following morning.

My brother remembers it differently. He says we flew both legs in a Queensland Air Lines Fokker Friendship. Until he came up with details that could only have come from two flights, I'd forgottenall about Queensland Airlines, so unless I can locate a QAL timetable, I'll have to take his word for it.
