Wujal Wujal
The Aboriginal community of Wujal Wujal ('many falls') on the Bloomfield River thirty kilometres north of Cape Tribulation and sixty south of Cooktown in the traditional homelands of the Eastern Kuku Yalanji was formerly the Bloomfield River Mission.
While a sealed road links Wujal Wujal to Cooktown, access from the south is via the unsealed Bloomfield Track from Cape Tribulation. Steep gradients, rough terrain, and numerous streams make the track unsuitable for regular vehicles and often impassable during the Northern wet season.
